BIO TANJA VOGRIN
Tanja Vogrin is a Slovenian-born mezzosoprano and harpist who studied singing with Dušanka Simonović, Jolanda Korat, Annemarie Zeller and Joanna Borowska-Isser, and harp with Dalibor Bernatović, Eva Hoffellner, Arcola Clark and Ágnes Polónyi in Slovenia and Austria. She graduated from the University of music and performing arts in Graz with honours in 2009.
Her interest in early music led her to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where she earned several master’s degrees in historically informed performance practice. She studied historical harps with Heidrun Rosenzweig, ensemble singing (AVES) with Anthony Rooley and Evelyn Tubb, as well as medieval singing with Kathleen Dineen.
Tanja accompanies herself on the harp and is one of the founding members of Concerto di Margherita (CH), the ensemble known for reviving the art of self-accompaniment.
She has a busy schedule both as a soloist and with several ensembles like 4HeartS (A), Novantik (CH), Alerion (CH), Neue Hofkapelle Graz (A), Recreation Barock (A), La Cetra Basel (CH), Cortesia (SI), Musica Cubicularis (SI) and others. Tanja Vogrin performs in festivals like York Early Music Festival (GB), Festival d’Ambronay (F), Styriarte (A), Trigonale (A), SEVIQC Brežice (SI), Stara glasba na Novem trgu (SI), Festival Monteverdi Cremona (I), Baroque Vivant (CH), Freunde Alter Musik Basel (CH), Internationale Händel Festspiele Göttingen (D), Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci (D), Tage Alter Musik Pöllau (A), Ghislieri Musica Pavia (I), Musica Antica Den Haag (NL), Festival Groeningen (NL) and Sastamala Gregoriana (FI).
She teaches baroque singing and baroque harp at the J.J.Fux- Konservatorium in Graz since April 2016.
Die slowenische Mezzosopranistin und Harfenistin Tanja Vogrin studierte Gesang und klassische Harfe in Slowenien und Österreich. 2009 schloss sie mit Auszeichnung ihr Masterstudium in Konzertgesang an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz ab.
Aus Liebe zur Alten Musik beschäftigt sie sich mit historischen Harfen und vorklassischen Gesangstechniken und begleitet sich auch selbst an der Harfe. Ihr Interesse führte sie nach Basel, wo sie an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Masterstudien in Barockharfe, mittelalterlichen Gesangsstudien und AVES (Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies) absolvierte. Nicht nur aufgrund ihrer solistischen Tätigkeit, sondern auch dank ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit diversen Ensembles wie Concerto di Margherita (CH), Alerion (D), La Cetra Basel (CH), 4HeartS (A), Le Sirene (CH), musica cubicularis (SI), Cortesia (SI), Novantik Basel (CH), Phoenix Munich (D), Neue Hofkapelle Graz (A), RecreationBAROCK (A) u.a., hat sie stets einen vollen Auftrittskalender vorzuweisen.
Vogrin ist regelmäßig zu Gast bei Musikfestivals wie York Early Music Festival (GB), Festival d’Ambronay (F), Styriarte (A), Trigonale (A), SEVIQC Brežice (SI), Stara glasba na Novem trgu (SI), Festival Monteverdi Cremona (I), Baroque Vivant (CH), Freunde Alter Musik Basel (CH), Internationale Händel Festspiele Göttingen (D), Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci (D), Tage Alter Musik Pöllau (A), Ghislieri Musica Pavia (I), Musica Antica Den Haag (NL), Festival Groeningen (NL) und Sastamala Gregoriana (FI).
Nicht zuletzt ist Tanja Vogrin seit April 2016 als Lehrende im Fachbereich für Alte Musik am Johann-Joseph-Fux Konservatorium in Graz tätig.
